CIA destroys torture-tapes, Perino pulls a Roberto Gonzales

Dana Perino pulls another White House Press Secretary classic: not commenting on an ongoing investigation. Usually a story like this continues to go uncommented, until we've passed the quiet ending of the investigation with no results whatsoever. Then, Dana's excuse will change from not commenting on ongoing investigations to not commenting on matters that have been 'fully investigated and spit out' by whatever committee they put in place themselves. From the CIA to the Congress to the White House, mostly nothing but stupid white men and women it seems...

Peace is not no violence

Bush once said: "Success [in Iraq] is not no violence". In the movie Air Force One the President played by Harrison Ford said: "Peace is not the absence of terror but the presence of justice." So how come the new republican slogan "the surge is working" fails to note that nothing can work in Iraq without the presence of a working political system? How can there be peace and justice in Iraq if they're still fighting over who gets how big a peace of the oilpie? Furthermore, what in the world is the surge going to do about that?

US kills innocent people: Dana Perino vs Helen Thomas

A lovely interaction between Press Secretary Perino and journalist/author/watchdog of democracy Helen Thomas. The entire transcript is too good to miss. Dana Perino managed to admit the US kills innocent people right after she denied it and denounced Helen for it.

Helen Thomas: No troops out from Iraq on his watch. I know. I’m talking about all troops.

Dana Perino: Well, 5700 troops will be home by the end of the year so that is some troops coming home. The President said the troop levels are going to be made by the commanders on the ground and we are going to have to talk about return on success.

Helen Thomas: Why should it be? Why don’t the American people have a say?

Dana Perino: The American people have had a say. They elected a President who is their commander in chief and is making decisions based on what his commanders on the ground are telling him.

Helen Thomas: Do you think that was the vote from the American people?

Dana Perino: They elected a commander in chief and the President is bringing home 5700 troops based on the recommendations of his commanders on the ground and based on return on success. Hopefully in the future we can bring home more but it’s going to depend on what Gen Petraeus reports and remember he will come back in March.

Helen Thomas: Why should we depend on him?

Dana Perino: Because he is the commander on the ground, Helen. He’s the one who is making sure that the situation is moving -

Helen Thomas: You mean how many more people we kill?

Dana Perino: Helen, I find it really unfortunate that you use your front row position bestowed upon you by your colleagues to make such statements. This is. It is an honor and a privilege to be in the briefing room, and to suggest that we, at the United States, are killing innocent people is just absurd and very offensive.

Helen Thomas: Do you know how many we have since the start of this war?

Dana Perino: How many… We are going after the enemy, Helen. To the extent that any innocent Iraqis have been killed, we have expressed regret for it.

Helen Thomas: Oh, regret. It doesn’t bring back a life.

Naomi Klein explains "The Shock Doctrine" on Olbermann

The lovely Naomi Klein is back to expose some more capital wrongdoings in this modern world: "There is a word for what happens when you invade a country, especially on false pretenses, and then you grab its assets. It's called looting, and it's illegal."

With women like this around, there may still be some hope left for our pathetic civilisation.

Will Durst blasts the idiots-in-politics

This is from November, 21th:
"With the respect he's demonstrated for rule of law and his country's Constitution, you have to wonder if Pakistani President Musharraf is being advised by Karl Rove."
Mitt Romney has flip-flopped so much, I'm surprised his campaign ads don't close with "I'm Mitt Romney, and I both approve and disapprove of this message."
President Bush continues to attack the Democrats for their "tax and spend" policy. Which is totally antithetical to his, "don't tax, spend anyhow" policy.
Mayor Giuliani says Hillary Clinton, "cannot take a position and stick with it." As opposed to Rudy who is perfectly capable of sticking with a position, as long as the words "I do" aren't involved.

But, he's even better in his newest post:
"The dollar is headed downhill faster than Bode Miller on a set of rocket skis. Think nose dive. Plummetville. Plunge City. Belly Floppo Rama. Recession is such an ugly word..... Spending 2 trillion on an unnecessary war. Silly boy. Lowering taxes during that same unnecessary war. Sillier boy.....And thank god we, the general public, never fell for that whole "you got to save your money" BS and are still proud holders of the "Least Personal Savings of any Country in the Industrialized World" award. Because you know what those dollars are worth now? Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Nothing!"

Bush presses congress for more Defense money, again

Bush's war funds warning
Bush's war funds warning

Bush warns congress to give him the additional money already, or else the military cannot function! (Imagine that.) Bush praises Gates for his prudence but his war in Iraq is anything but prudent. There's already estimates of 2 trillion dollars flying around for the entire cost of the war to American taxpayers but somehow, these prudent men seem to always need more. If only there was a possiblity for a military victory, which there isn't.

Al Gore is hostile to human civilization

Tucker Carlson, living it up, everybody. He'll be mediahistory soon but until then we can be sure to find the looniest of claims whenever he's on the air.

"I think Gore would have been a disaster as president. We'd have been living in the Dark Ages. I think he's fundamentally hostile to human civilization. And a phony."
SIMON: Would we be fighting a war in Iraq?
CARLSON: We would likely be not, not be fighting a war in Iraq. We'd also be living in yurts in the dark, and that would be maybe almost as bad.

Hysterical Tucker! If only it were true...

Fox news at it again: "Dems want failure"

John Gibson is the idiot-at-work. The democrats vow more failure... Exactly what's to win again John? Simply less attacks?! I thought y'all were gonna win the hearts and minds of the Middle East? I thought y'all were gonna spread democracy the same way y'all spread false rumours like 'Saddam has WMD' or 'tax cuts for the wealthy are good'?! You are the failure, Gibson.

Bush gives speech in New Albany, Indiana blaming the dems for overspending

Always nice to see the hypocrite-in-chief. Truly funny stuff, blaming democrats for raising taxes while spending 2 trillion dollars of treasury on a fraudulent war against an enemy without WMD. I can only imagine how stupid aliens must think we all are. Bush even had the nerve to speak of fiscal responsibility. I guess he thinks nobody's listening anyway, which is probably true.

All Lewis Black, all the issues

Lewis is Back in Black on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart! Blessed are the folks of Comedy Central and any corporation that harbours and sponsors the man Lewis Black. He phrases everything so brilliantly, so plain simple and clear. Let's have Bush debate him, what do ya say!?

The Daily Show experts, preporting the news

I give you "the McLAUGHlin Group"

The good elite... teacher of the month: Bill Maher

Say it loud: I'm elite and proud! The right-wing crusade to demonize elites has paid off. Now the country's run by incompetents who make mediocrity a job requirement and recruit from Pat Robertson's law school. New rule: Now that liberals have taken back the word liberal, they also have to take back the word "elite." By now you've heard the constant right-wing attacks on the "elite," or as it's otherwise known, "hating." They've had it up to their red necks with the "elite media." The "liberal elite." Who may or may not be part of the "Washington elite." A subset of the "East Coast elite." Which is influenced by "the Hollywood elite." So basically, unless you're a shitkicker from Kansas, you're with the terrorists. If you played a drinking game in which you did a shot every time Rush Limbaugh attacked someone for being "elite" you'd almost be as wasted as Rush Limbaugh.

I don't get it: In other fields -- outside of government -- elite is a good thing, like an elite fighting force. Tiger Woods is an elite golfer. If I need brain surgery, I'd like an elite doctor. But in politics, elite is bad -- the elite aren't down-to-earth and accessible like you and me and President Shit-for-Brains. But when the anti-elite crowd demonizes the elite, what they're actually doing is embracing incompetence. Now, I know what you're thinking: That doesn't sound like our president -- ignoring intelligence.

You know how whenever there's a major Bush administration scandal it always traces back to some incompetent political hack appointment and you think to yourself, "Where are they getting these screw-ups from?" Well, now we know: from Pat Robertson. I wish I were kidding, but I'm not. Take Monica Goodling, who before she resigned last week because of the U.S. attorneys scandal, was the third most powerful official in the Justice Department of the United States. Thirty-three, and though she had never even worked as a prosecutor, she was tasked with overseeing the job performance of all 95 U.S. attorneys. How do you get to be such a top dog at 33? By acing Harvard, or winning scholarship prizes? No, Goodling did her undergraduate work at Messiah College -- home of the "Fighting Christies," who wait-listed me, the bastards -- and then went on to attend Pat Robertson's law school.
I'm not kidding, Pat Robertson, the man who said gay people at DisneyWorld would cause "earthquakes, tornadoes, and possibly a meteor," has a law school. It's called Regent. Regent University School of Law, and it shares a campus with Robertson's Christian Broadcasting Network studios. It's the first time ever that a TV network spun off a law school. And that's all America needs -- more Christians and more lawyers. You see, years ago Pat became concerned that our legal system was coddling criminals, forgiving them instead of meting out that Old Testament "eye for an eye" justice Jesus Christ never shuts up about. So Pat did what any red-blooded, Hindu-hating, gay-baiting, glue-sniffing Christian would do: He started his own law school. And what kid wouldn't want to attend? It's three years and you only have to read one book. The school says its mission is to create an army of evangelical lawyers, integrating the Bible and public policy, and producing graduates that provide "Christian leadership to change the world." Presumably from round back to flat.

U.S. News and World Report, which does the definitive ranking of colleges, lists Regent as a tier-four school, which is the lowest score it gives. It's not a hard school to get into. You have to renounce Satan and draw a pirate on a matchbook. This is for the people who couldn't get into the University of Phoenix.

But there's more! As there inevitably is with the Bush administration. Turns out she's not the only one. Since 2001, 150 graduates of Regent University have been hired by the Bush administration. And people wonder why things are so screwed up. Hell, we probably invaded Iraq because one of these clowns read the map wrong. Forget religion for a second, we're talking about a top Justice Department official who went to a college founded by a TV host. Would you send your daughter to Maury Povich University? And if you did, would you expect her to get a job at the White House? I'd be surprised if she got a job on the "Maury" show. And then it hit me: This is why Bush scandals never catch on with the public -- they're all evangelicals of course, and nobody is having sex.

So there you have it: It turns out that the Justice Department is entirely staffed with Jesus freaks from a televangelist diploma mill in Virginia Beach. Most of them young women with very little knowledge of the law, but a very strong sense of doing what they're told. Like the Manson family, but with cleaner hair. In 200 years we've gone from "We the people" to "Up with people." From the best and brightest to dumb and dumber. And, come on, America is a big, well-known, first-rate country, and when we're looking for people to help run it, we should aim higher than the girl who answers the phone at the fake abortion clinic. It's not just that this president has surrounded himself with a Texas echo chamber of war criminals and religious fanatics. It's that they're sooooo mediocre. This is America. We should be getting robbed and fucked over by the best.

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., asked at a hearing, "Should we be concerned with the experience level of the people who are making these highly significant decisions?" But in the Bush administration experience doesn't matter. All that matters is loyalty to Bush and Jesus, in that order. And where better to find people dumb enough to believe in George W. Bush than Pat Robertson's law school. The problem here in America isn't that the country is being run by elites. It's that it's being run by a bunch of hayseeds. And by the way, the lawyer Monica Goodling just hired to keep her ass out of jail went to a real law school.

Fox Noise Channel: unfair and unbalanced

Welcome to American News, welcome to Propagandistan.

George Carlin and vested interests, the real owners of the world

They say we need more money for education. That's the big answer to everything, education. They say we need more money for books, more teachers, more classrooms, more schools, and more testing for the kids, and they'll say, well we tried all of that, and the kids still can't pass the tests. Don't worry about that, because we're going to lower the passing grades, and that's what they do in a lot of these schools. They lower the passing grades so more kids can pass - more kids pass, the school looks goods, and the IQ of the country slips another 2 or 3 points. And pretty soon all you'll need to get into college is a pencil. Got a pencil? Then get in there, it's physics!

Then people wonder why 17 other countries graduate more scientist than we do. Education - politicians use that word, they use it on you. Politicians have traditionally hidden behind 3 things: the flag, the bible, and children - no child left behind, no child left behind. Oh, really it wasn't too long ago you were talking about giving children a head start. Head start - left behind, someone's losing ground here, but there's a reason. There's a reason for this. There's a reason education sucks, and it's the same reason it'll never ever be fixed - it's never going to get any better, don't look for it, be happy with what you got, because the owners of this country don't want that. I'm talking about the real owners now. The wealthy big business interests that controls things, and makes all the important decisions.

Forget the politicians, they're irrelevant. The politicians are put there to give you the idea you have freedom of choice - you don't. You have no choice. You have owners. They own you. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own, and control the corporations. They've long since bought, and payed for the senate, the congress, the state houses, the city halls, they got the judges in their back pockets, and they own all the big media, so they control just about all the information you get. They got you by the balls. They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying - lobbying, to get what they want.

Well we know what they want. They want more for themselves, and less for everybody else, but I'll tell you what they don't want - they don't want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don't want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They're not interested in that - that doesn't help them. That's against their interests. That's right. They don't want people that are smart enough to sit around a kitchen table, and think about how badly they're getting screwed by a system that threw them overboard 30 fucking years ago. They don't want that. You know what they want? Obedient workers - Obedient workers, people who are just smart enough to run the machines, and do that paper work. And just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shittier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime, and vanishing pension that disappear the minute you go to collect it, and now they're coming for your social security money. They want your retirement money. They want it back so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street, and you know something? They'll get it - they'll get it all from you sooner or later cause they own this place. It's a big club, and you aint in it. You, and I are not in The Big Club.

By the way, it's the same big club they use to beat you over the head with all day long when they tell you what to believe. All day long beating you over the head with their media telling you what to believe, what to think, and what to buy.

The table has tilted folks. The game is rigged, and nobody seems to notice. Nobody seems to care. Good honest hard working people: white collar, blue collar it doesn't matter what color shirt you have on. Good honest hard working people continue (these are people of modest being) - continue to elect these rich douchebags who don't give a fuck about you. They don't give a fuck about you - they don't give a fuck about you. They don't care about you at all - at all - at all, and nobody seems to notice. Nobody seems to care.

That's what the owners counted on. The fact that Americans will probably remain willfully ignorant of the big red, white, and blue dick that's being jammed up their assholes everyday, because the owners of this country know the truth. It's called the American Dream cause you have to be asleep to believe it.

Keith Olbermann has had enough of Bush and Cheney

Go Keith! Go Keith! Impeach! Impeach!
